We ask that our High School judges have a minimum of a science or engineering bachelor's degree, or six years of science/engineering work experience. We prefer that our middle school judges meet the same criteria, but we will permit upper division undergraduates to judge middle school.
No parents or teachers may judge in the division (middle school or high school) in which they have students competing. If you have students in both, please let us know in advance.
Project judging in 2021 is online.
Project Round 1 judging is judging based on the students' uploaded information about their project. Pre-judging/Round 1 is scheduled for Tuesday through Sunday, February 19-24, 2021, at your leisure.
Project Round 2 of Judging, interacting with the students, is scheduled for Friday, February 26, 2021. The exact time will be published later, but generally starts around 4:00 PM
Special Awards Judges: There are special awards judges who are selecting projects based on the criteria for the award. Any project many win a special award regardless of their ribbon score, if they happen to best match the award criteria.
Thank you for being willing to encourage students in STEM research! These students are our future!
